Singer Kehlani had to hit pause on their ongoing tour after experiencing a health scare.
“After two off days feeling completely normal… I’ve been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain,” Kehlani, 31, shared in an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 26.
“I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows,” they said, referring to their Wednesday show in Camden, New Jersey, and a Thursday, August 27, performance in Columbia, Maryland.
Kehlani wrote, “My team is working on a solution. Breaks my heart to have to ever do this. I do everything i’m supposed to to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isn’t guaranteed.”
“We will pick back up in Virginia,” Kehlani concluded, expressing hope to return to the stage on Saturday, August 29, in Richmond, Virginia.
The singer won Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for “Folded” at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February. They launched the Kehlani World Tour, in support of their self-titled fifth studio album, on August 6 in Minneapolis.
In 2024, Kehlani addressed ex Javaughn Young-White’s allegations that the singer was raising their daughter Adeya Nomi, 7, in a “cult” after he filed for full custody of the child.
Kehlani said the claims were “incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, inappropriate and simply untrue.”

“I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe,” Kehlani wrote in an Instagram Story post. “I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community.”
“I have always taken great care to ensure that my child remains protected and safe at all times,” the Grammy winner added. “My child and my commitment to motherhood have always been my sole driving forces in this life and will always remain so. This is who I am and what I have always focused on.”
In a July 2024 court filing obtained by People, Young-White alleged, “Adeya was born through a home birth orchestrated by what I would describe as a cult that she belongs in.” He claimed that because “Adeya was born in a home and not in a conventional setting like a hospital,” his name does not appear on her birth certificate.
Young-White further alleged that this “cult” had control over the singer’s life and “when it comes to the upbringing” of their daughter.
In a December 2025 interview on The Breakfast Club radio show, Kehlani said they had “full custody” of the former couple’s daughter and had no contact with her ex.
